HIPAA & Business Associate Agreement (BAA)

If your organization is required to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), you may need a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Koalendar before using the platform to collect or manage protected health information (PHI).

Koalendar offers a BAA for customers who need HIPAA compliance.

Signing a BAA with Koalendar

You can review and sign the Business Associate Agreement directly from your dashboard.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Koalendar account.
  2. Open the HIPAA & BAA page.
  3. Purchase the HIPAA add-on subscription.
  4. Review the agreement.
  5. Sign the BAA electronically.

When do you need a BAA?

You should sign a BAA with Koalendar if you use the platform to schedule appointments that may involve protected health information (PHI), such as:

  • Patient names linked to medical services
  • Appointment details related to healthcare treatments
  • Any other health-related personal data

Healthcare providers, clinics, therapists, and medical organizations commonly require a BAA to ensure HIPAA compliance.

Important notes

  • Only accounts that require HIPAA compliance need to sign a BAA.
  • Once signed, the agreement is attached to your Koalendar workspace.
